Southern Railway Merchant Navy Pacific 35018 “British India Line”, passing through Finsbury Park station in North London on 15th July 2023, working the Railway Touring Company “White Rose” special train from London Kings Cross to York.
The picture on the bridge was taken at 06:56 as the train crossed Seven Sisters Road. It had just passed through platform 1 on its way to Kings Cross for the passengers to board. 35018 was on the rear going backwards so as to be at the right end to pull the train from Kings Cross to York.
At 07:28 the train passed through platform 7 of Finsbury Park having powered up the gradient from Kings Cross heading North to York.
