Brasilian Navy U27 “NE Brasil” 2025 London Visit

On the morning of 13th October 2025, the Brasilian Navy training ship U27 “NE Brasil” slipped into the Pool of London at dawn.

The ship’s company were mustered on the flight deck at the stern ready for the ship to pass through Tower Bridge.

Tugs VB Peter and VB Baydan, at front and rear respectively, guided the ship into their berth alongside the museum ship HMS Belfast.

Back To Sea

Five days later and it was time to leave. In gloomy, overcast weather, U27 NE Brasil was taken backwards through Tower Bridge in the care of tugs VB Peter and VB Ambition. At Wapping Reach the ship was turned before slipping her towlines and heading down the River Thames and out to sea.

Tugs VB Peter and VB Ambition start to turn U27 NE Brasil at Wapping Reach.
The Port of London Harbour Master has their work cut out for them, manoeuvring the ship and keeping all the other river traffic safe. The Harbourmaster’s launch “Lambeth” is in the very centre of the picture with the white cabin.
