HMS Severn sails out of London after recommissioning into the Royal Navy, the first reactivation of a ship since the 1982 Falklands Conflict.
Royal Navy Type 23 F81 HMS Sutherland
Visiting London in May 2025, HMS Sutherland tied up alongside the Second World War museum ship HMS Belfast.
HMS Sutherland is a Type 23 Royal Navy Duke Class Frigate whose primary role is submarine hunting.
HMS Belfast is moored in the Pool of London, the stretch of the River Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. To the North side is the Tower of London.
The ship is nicknamed “The Fighting Clan” and has its own piper to play the bag pipes in recognition of the ship’s Scottish connections.
