German Navy FGS Magdeburg F261 Visits London

In gloomy and overcast weather, the German Navy Corvette F261 “FGS Magdeburg” passed through Tower Bridge on 30th September 2024. The ship had been tied up alongside the museum ship HMS Belfast for a couple of days.

Having slipped lines from tugs “Peter” and “Ambition”, the flotilla proceeded down the River Thames before entering West India Dock on the Isle of Dogs.

Tower Bridge’s bascules are lifted for “FGS Magdeburg” to pass through.

“FGS Magdeburg” sails down the River Thames escorted by tugs “VB Peter” and “VB Ambition”
