On Saturday 25th November 2023, LMS Royal Scot Class steam locomotive 46115 “Scots Guardsman” (in British Railways green) visited London Paddington.
The train passed through Hanwell in West London and then on to its destination, London Paddington. The “Capital Christmas Express”, operated by the Railway Touring Company, had come from Chester via Wrexham.

Once passengers had disembarked at Paddington, the train was hauled back to Southall where there is a steam engine shed to service the steam engines before heading back to London Paddington to pickup the passengers and then back to Chester.

On 5th October 2024, British Railways steam locomotive 70000 Britannia passed through Wandsworth Road station in London hauling the Golden Arrow.
To mark the 150th birthday of “Poplar”, the locomotive came to London for local children to see a real life steam engine and climb on board.
