The Old Bailey

The Old Bailey, properly called the Central Criminal Court, is located in the City of London on the site of Newgate prison. It has hosted many famous criminal trials in its history. The current building is made up of two parts, the 1907 building and the 1972 extension.

During the normal working week, photography is banned anywhere within the building. These pictures were taken during a weekend visit where photography of the circulating areas was allowed. Photography of the Courts themselves is always banned.
