2024 Vintners’ Company Procession
Each year a new Master is installed to lead the Vintners’ Company, one of the City of London’s Livery Companies. Following the installation at Vintners’ Hall, the company processes to the nearby St James Garlickhythe church.
In a tradition traced back to medieval times, the procession is led by a Company Wine Porter with a birch broom to sweep the path clear and members of the procession carry sweet smelling flower posies so the they will not be troubled by the stench of the City.
