Kempton Park Pumping Station Steam Museum

Kempton Steam Museum is home to two steam engines which are on an epic scale. Bigger than buses. Huge.

The engines were used to pump water from the waterworks through pipes delivering the water to people’s homes. One of the engines, “Sir William Prescott” was operating. Walking into the hall, the size of the thing was jaw dropping.

The London Museum of Water and Steam at Kew Bridge is not too far away. Also, have a look at the Markfield Beam Engine.
