35018 “British India Line” Approaching Clapham Junction
On Sunday 9th July 2023, Southern Railway Merchant Navy Pacific steam engine 35018 “British India Line”, slows to negotiate the trackwork at Clapham Junction having climbed up the line from London Victoria at 09:23 running 18 minutes late.
The train was a steam special from London Victoria to Weymouth operated by The Railway Touring Company to mark the anniversary of end of steam on the Southern Region in 1967.
